They were a great help to me--and so supportive. Today, I usually get writing help from my good friends Grace Lin and Janet Wong via email and telephone. These two ladies have given me excellent advice and lots of encouragement.

Love your Pinchusion Doll poem!Elaine Magliarohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09829330276633865868noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8552083088916942937.post-60679858280446238922011-08-26T07:19:17.705-07:002011-08-26T07:19:17.705-07:00Oh that's a beautiful teaser for the poem. I feel that it is important for writers/creatives to have this space where they could simply enjoy and relish the feel of being with kindreds. I am glad you have found such wonderful space with your two sets of friends.GatheringBookshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04477710897574769648noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8552083088916942937.post-69429344005517099902011-08-26T06:31:46.067-07:002011-08-26T06:31:46.067-07:00at first i thought, what a sad commentary on the w...at first i thought, what a sad commentary on the way women were treated in the past, forced to stab pins in effigy. then i thought about voodoo dolls and their purpose -- equally stuffed human forms stuck with pins -- and wondered if, somewhere, these two dolls don't have a shared ancestor.

love the wordplay, as always, julie. the legs beg, the waist chaste. wonderful.david elzeyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16653215150526146224noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8552083088916942937.post-74285335643876547582011-08-26T06:01:39.577-07:002011-08-26T06:01:39.577-07:00Very powerful and (pardon the pun) sharp.
